These terms govern your use of CaseClerk at caseclerk.ai. By creating an account you agree to them. If you are accepting on behalf of a firm, you confirm you may bind that firm.
CaseClerk is a document analysis service. You upload the documents of a matter into a case vault, ask a question in plain English, and the service answers from those documents and names the file each answer was taken from.
CaseClerk is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. Every answer is a starting point to be checked against the named document. Professional judgement, and responsibility for the work product, stay with you.
You need a verified email address to use the service. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you believe someone else has access to it.
One account is for one person. Accounts are not shared between colleagues.
A new account gets one trial: 25 pages of analysis and up to 5 documents in the vault. The trial runs once and does not refill. No card is needed for it.
Paid plans are subscriptions: Solo, Professional and Firm, billed monthly or a year ahead at the prices shown on the pricing page. Each plan includes a monthly page allowance (2,500, 10,000 and 30,000 pages). A question reads every document in the vault, so it costs the page count of that vault.
Payments are taken by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account; access continues to the end of the period you have paid for, and we do not refund the unused part of a period.
Changing plan opens a new subscription and closes the previous one. Time you have already paid for is added to the new period rather than lost.
We may change prices for future periods. A price change never applies to a period already paid for, and we tell you before it takes effect.
You keep every right in the documents you upload. You give us permission to store and process them only to run the service for you, which includes sending document text to the AI provider named in the Privacy Policy so that your question can be answered.
You confirm you are allowed to upload what you upload and to have it processed this way, including where the documents contain client or personal data.
Do not use the service to break the law, to upload material you have no right to, to attack or overload the service, or to try to reach another account's data. We may suspend an account that does, after telling you why where we can.
We work to keep the service running and do not promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, provider outages and faults happen. If the service is materially unavailable for a long period, write to us and we will sort out the billing for that period.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for lost profit, lost business or the consequences of relying on an answer without checking the document it names.
You may stop using the service and cancel at any time. We may end this agreement if you break these terms. When an account closes, its documents are deleted from storage.
We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept it. Questions go to [email protected].
