Clio Work Pricing and Clio Work Cost Per User With Vincent AI

Clio Work was reported at $199 per user per month at launch, and Clio still prints no price. Here is what that means at 1 to 10 users, whether it comes with Clio Manage, and what happened to Clio Duo.

If a Clio rep has just sent you a Clio Work quote, you probably went looking for the list price and found a pricing page with no number on it. Clio's Clio Work pricing page says the product is priced per user and points you to a free trial or a demo. The figure you want lives in trade coverage and in your quote.

Clio Work was reported at $199 per user per month when it launched in October 2025, according to launch coverage in Legal Tech Monitor and pricing trackers such as CheckThat. Clio does not publish a current number. Since April 2026 a solo or small firm can buy Clio Work on its own, without Clio Manage, and a five person firm at the launch rate pays about $11,940 a year.

How much does Clio Work cost?

Clio Work costs a reported $199 per user per month, the launch price covered by Legal Tech Monitor in October 2025. Clio has not published that number or any later one; its pricing page sends you to a trial or demo. Treat $199 as a starting point and ask your rep for the current rate in writing.

Aitoolsbakery checked the Clio Work pricing page in July 2026 and found it demo only. CheckThat repeats the $199 launch number and noted a promotion on Clio's page, one month of Clio free with a Clio Work purchase, listed as ending July 31. That offer has expired, but it shows Clio does discount.

This is an estimate built on the reported $199 launch rate, not a Clio quote. The second column adds Clio Manage EasyStart at $49 per user, the only Manage price Clio publishes, for firms that want both. Higher Manage tiers are quoted, and third-party trackers such as Costbench list Essentials at $89, Advanced at $119 and Complete at $149 per user per month.

Clio Work licenses are assigned person by person. The Clio Help Center says admins assign Clio Work licenses to individual users, so you can give it to the two litigators who research and leave the billing staff off. That is the easiest lever you have on the total.

Is Clio Work included in Clio Manage?

No. Clio Work is a separate product with its own per user license, and Clio Manage does not include it. For its first six months, from October 2025, only Manage customers could buy it. In April 2026 Clio opened it as a standalone product for solo, small and mid-sized firms.

If you are already on Manage, Clio Work shows up inside it. The Help Center describes starting the trial from a matter dashboard or from the Manage AI panel, and Clio Work can pull matter data from Manage into its answers. That connection is the main reason to buy both.

How much is Clio Duo?

Clio Duo no longer has a price of its own because it no longer appears on Clio's pricing page. Clio's earlier AI assistant was succeeded by Manage AI, which is sold as a quote priced add-on. Third-party reports for that add-on conflict, with some citing $39 per user per month and others $49 to $59.

CheckThat says the add-on that grew out of Duo is available on Essentials, Advanced and Expand (the tier once called Complete) but not on EasyStart. Some older comparison pages still list "Duo Essentials" and similar bundles at $119 to $179 per user, but those figures predate the rename. Manage AI works inside Manage on deadlines, billing and documents. Clio Work is the research and drafting workspace built on Vincent.

Does Clio Work have a free trial?

Yes. The Clio Help Center describes a 14-day Clio Work trial that a Manage admin starts from a matter or the Manage AI panel. Eligible US Manage accounts were also enrolled automatically in a 30-day trial. Users who still hold a license when the trial ends become paid users, so review assignments before day 14.

Standalone buyers who do not have Manage are pointed to the trial or demo form on the Clio Work pricing page. The Help Center also says a firm that has used a Clio Work trial cannot get another one for a year, so run the trial when you have a real research question to test it on.

What you get for $199 a user

Clio Work came out of Clio's $1 billion acquisition of vLex, completed in November 2025, according to Legal Technology. vLex brought Vincent AI and its legal library. Inside Clio Work you get three kinds of work:

  • Legal research. Vincent answers questions grounded in the Clio Library, which Clio describes as more than one billion legal documents, including primary law, dockets and secondary sources. Coverage is described as more than 100 countries in Clio's help pages and more than 110 jurisdictions in launch coverage.
  • Drafting and strategy. Clio says Clio Work supports litigation and transactional workflows across pleadings, discovery, depositions, contracts and policies, and plans the steps itself when you describe the outcome you want.
  • Document analysis. You can upload documents and ask Vincent about them, and Clio Work can use matter data from Manage as context.

The Help Center adds that every research, analysis and document output needs final review by a qualified legal professional, which is true of any legal AI tool. If you are pricing research platforms side by side, our Lexis+ AI pricing breakdown and CoCounsel pricing per user, the Westlaw side equivalent, use the same format as this page.

Who should pay for Clio Work

Clio Work makes sense when your attorneys research case law and draft from it every week. A litigator writing motions, or a Manage customer who wants research tied to the matter, will get value from the $199 seat.

It is a poor fit when the firm's real job is reading. Many small firms spend far more hours going through what is already in the file (contracts, correspondence, medical records, discovery productions, deposition transcripts) than looking up new law. Paying $199 per person for a research library to answer "what does the lease say about assignment" or "when did the client first report the injury" is paying for a lot you will not use. And if all you need is quick case law lookups, a lighter AI case law search tool may cover it for less than a full research seat.

What a firm that mainly reads its own documents needs

CaseClerk is not legal research, not practice management and not a drafting tool. If you need case law research, Clio Work and Vincent do that and CaseClerk does not. What CaseClerk does is read the documents of one matter. You put the matter's files in a vault (up to 1,000 files per case, 18 formats) and ask questions in plain English. Every answer names the source document and page, so you can check it before relying on it. It also runs contract analysis across the whole file, with citations, which helps when a deal or dispute turns on a dozen agreements and amendments.

The price is published and set per account, not per user:

Professional$249$1,49410,000 pages a month
Firm$499$2,99430,000 pages a month
EnterpriseQuoteQuoteCustom

For a five person firm, Clio Work at the reported launch rate is about $995 a month. CaseClerk Professional is $249 a month for the account. They do different jobs, so some firms will want both, and some will find the reading tool is the one they actually needed. Our guide to legal document review software covers the wider category if you want other options for the reading side.

Clio Work compared with other practice platforms' AI

Clio is not alone in quoting its AI. Our Smokeball pricing per user page covers Archie AI, sold as an add-on, and the Filevine pricing breakdown covers LOIS AI, priced inside custom packages. In each case the AI layer sits on top of seat pricing, so the per user total climbs faster than the headline plan suggests.

What to ask before you sign a Clio Work order

  • The current per user rate in writing. $199 is the reported launch figure. Ask whether your quote is above or below it and why.
  • Who needs a license. Licenses are assigned per person, so list the attorneys who research and draft, not the whole firm.
  • Manage or standalone. If you do not use Manage, confirm the standalone price and what you lose without matter data.
  • Manage AI overlap. If you already pay for the Duo successor, ask what Clio Work adds on top of it.
  • Trial end date. Licenses still assigned on day 14 convert to paid, so calendar the date.
  • Discounts. Clio has run promotions tied to Clio Work, so ask about annual terms and current offers.

If the questions your team asks most are about the documents already in the file, test that before you buy research seats. Run a closed matter through a CaseClerk trial: 25 pages, up to 5 files, no card. You can also read more about how it works on the CaseClerk homepage.
